Local Pitch Competitions with University of Naples Federico II |
Our partners have been busy hosting local pitch competitions and hackathons over the past few months!
In January, the University of Naples Federico II hosted its local pitch competition, where eight innovative teams presented solutions addressing challenges in health, nutrition, and well-being.
The winning team, FLATMATCH, stood out to the judges with their AI-driven project. Encouraging student entrepreneurship is key to fostering innovation, and initiatives like Start’Ship play a vital role in equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills and opportunities to bring their ideas to life.
As we continue to support the next generation of entrepreneurs, Start’Ship provide training modules and networking opportunities designed to help students refine their business ideas and connect with industry experts.

Hackathon with AP Hogeschool Antewrpen

On March 27th and 28th, our partners at AP Hogeschool Antewrpen organized an exciting hackathon featuring 20 students and 6 business cases.
To kick off the event, all participants received a cinema ticket for the best cinema complex in Antwerp, setting a fun tone for the days ahead!
The students, all Erasmus participants from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, and Hungary, brought diverse backgrounds in business-related fields such as e-commerce, international business, law, and marketing. They were particularly engaged by the healthcare business cases presented. As part of the hackathon, we collaborated closely with CEOs, who had prepared challenging tasks and were eager to work with the students.
Over the course of the event, the students worked through new and unfamiliar topics, holding brief TEAMS meetings with the CEOs, which helped clarify the assignments and allowed the students to delve deeper into the subject matter.
At the end of the first day, each group presented an improvised summary of their business case, proposed solutions, and the progress made after a full day of work. It was evident that tackling a business case outside their area of expertise sparked fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.
Everyone was impressed with the amount of work accomplished, and some groups even suggested creating handouts in addition to the final video, ensuring that both the CEOs and the Start’Ship consortium could gain deeper insights into the ideas and theories developed.
On the second day, all groups completed the tasks, except for the videotaped presentations of their solutions, which they were given an extra week to finalize. The final results will be assessed by AP UAS coaches and the companies’ CEOs.
These hackathons represent key milestones for the students, offering them an invaluable opportunity to apply their skills and present innovative solutions, while events like these also showcase the power of collaboration in nurturing the next generation of innovators.

Our partners Eurasanté took part in the “Journée des Opportunités” event in Lille to meet and connect with students from the Lille metropolitan area.
It was a great opportunity to introduce them to START’ship, and educate them on our support program for future entrepreneurs.
The agenda included insightful discussions, advice, and an overview of the many resources offered by START’ship. A big thank you to all the students who stopped by to meet us!

Over two intense days, fifty students took part in a bootcamp at Euralimentaire, working in teams to tackle real-world business challenges presented by local companies. Between creativity and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, they developed innovative solutions and rose to the occasion.
Our partners in Eurasnté took this opportunity to introduce them to the START’ship program and inspire them to explore entrepreneurship by showing them how to turn their ideas into real projects.
A big congratulations to all the students for their energy and commitment throughout the event!
